110 Ring Process

Below are pictures that show my process in making a 110 Ring. The material and the order the wood is glued together changes, but the rest stays the same.

1. Pieces of wood or veneer are cut into perfect squares.

2. Wood glue is used to permanently bond the pieces together.

3. They are clamped tightly while the glue dries.

4. A hole is drilled in the center, as close to or smaller than the ring size.
5. The wood form is forced tightly onto a mandrel.

6. ...and then shaped on a lathe.

7. Final shaping and sanding to get the correct size. A few coats of natural wax to protect it.

8. The final ring, ready to be worn.
